Focus Photography Club

Project Description

Focus Photography Club is a fully responsive landing page built with the client's needs at the forefront. The main goal of this project was to create a visually engaging, user-friendly design that adheres to accessibility standards. The page features a well-balanced design with intuitive navigation, clear call-to-action buttons, and a layout that adapts to various screen sizes. To ensure readability, I paid special attention to maintaining legible typography and meeting color contrast guidelines, which are crucial for accessibility, particularly on mobile devices.

This project was an excellent opportunity to apply responsive design principles in a real-world setting, focusing on client needs. I made sure each element on the page would fit appropriately on both mobile and desktop views. The primary client requirement was to showcase upcoming events in a functional and user-friendly way. To achieve this, I implemented an interactive calendar that adapts to mobile and desktop views, optimizing accessibility based on the user's device.

Role

As the only designer for this project, I was responsible for the entire process, utilizing the design sprint methodology. I began by sketching out initial ideas, moving through iterations, and testing various concepts before finalizing the design. Using Figma, I created both mobile and desktop versions of the landing page, making each section visually appealing and well-structured at every size. One of the main challenges I faced was being sure that the calendar would be both functional and accessible on mobile devices. The calendar design went through several stages of development before arriving at the final version, which adhered to all accessibility guidelines. I was certain to optimize the legibility of text and tap areas, following accessibility rules for touch targets and font sizes to ensure the interface was user-friendly for all visitors.

In addition to the design elements, I was also responsible for creating all the content displayed on the page. I focused on clearly communicating the club's purpose and upcoming events, presenting it in a simple way that would encourage user interaction. I wanted to make sure that the content was easy to navigate while remaining consistent with the overall design.
